1975 Rupp Nitro II 440

Recommended Posts

Thinning my Vintage herd and decided to sell one of my best riders. Turnkey 440 Kohler twin, dual Mikunis, very dependable and starts very easily. Has great track and rear skid, nice hood, great skis with good chrome, decent seat. Only thing not original on it is the clutch which is a Comet 102C, which enables this to perform like few vintage sleds do. Asking $1500 or best reasonable offer.

Is that price still good?

Thats just what I'm looking for!

Price is still good and the sled is sound! Needs a couple of small things but runs mint with the Comet Clutch on it!

Still for sale, but now needs a windshield as a result of some trailering vibrations under a cover after the last vintage ride last spring! Runs strong!

Armand, is that the same engine with the same hp as the merc trail twister?

That is correct! Same motor in the Twister, and they were no slouch in either chassis. This one really wakes up off the line with the Comet 102 that is on it.

I checked it out. Same engines, right down to the casting numbers...but the merc engines had better porting, they also ran tuned pipes. Good for several more hp. Rupp's were rated at 55 hp.

Should be at the races, but the sled is currently resting in a heated storage rack. Can be seen and moved but would take a little doin'. I'll be in a maroon Silverado with a cap, plate says "PATHFDR". My house is only ten minutes from the track.
