The time has come....

Recommended Posts

It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of the SledNH.com forums. I was recently approached about purchasing the domain name for a project. After much thought I feel like it will be a good fit for the next owner.

However, it is my understanding that he does not want to continue with the forum. I have been racking my brain trying to come up with something for those of you that don't like Facebook and prefer forums. That being said I don't see where this forum is still active enough to move to another domain.  Although it might not be for everyone, there is a NH forum on my other site,  FreedomSledder.com. Unlike the Current events and General Forums the state and snowmobile sections are now moderated and more in tune with how SledNH has been run.

Feel free to check out FreedomSledder and sign up if you are interested. Also , let me know if you have any other ideas to help keep the group together.

Between HCS before SledNH and the guys from SledNH, I have met and ridden with a lot of great people. Thank you all for everything that you have done to make SledNH such a warm friendly community.

John....kind of expected the site to close, just as Sled Maine, did a few years back.

Sad to see it gone . ....

To be honest, I am surprised you have kept it going this long, considering the traffic.

Still - I check in here every day (so I know how low the traffic is), and will miss this place. The drama and nastiness has always been missing from this place, a welcome thing in the world of social media.

Thanks for keeping it going as long as you did.

It's a sad day in the annuls of New Hampshire snowmoiblers. This site was a second home to me and I enjoyed  the friendships that have com and gone, the information shared, and the incredible rides that were shared by people who met on this site.  Thanks John for allowing me the priviledge  of being a small part of it, and putting up with an overabundance  of vintage material that came from this old guy.

John

Thanks so much for keeping this site going for so long. It was a great place to get all sledding information long before Facebook came along (and sort of ruined it!). Will have to check out the other sites. Hope all is well, and maybe we will get to the NEK next year to ride!

Thanks, Dave. I wish that I could do more, but for now all I can offer is the NH forum on FreedomSledder.com

Thank you, Armand! You have been a part of SledNH since the start. If my memory is correct you were the one that drafted the email that went out to all of the clubs inviting them to join SledNH. I appreciate your friendship and guidance over the years.

Thank you, Jean!

I can assure that the NEK is worth a try.

I'm looking into the possibility of piggybacking this forum on the FreedomSledder server and domain.  It wouldn't be SledNH in name, but it would be it's own forum within a forum.

I think that would be a great idea. I really don't like Facebook as an alternative to a forum like this. Too hard to search, you can only look at 'just send it' so many times. I have learned a lot here, piggybacking it to there would hopefully be good for both sites.

What a great site this has been. I’ve met many quality people here and have made good friends. I joined in’08 I believe. Good run. Thanks John.
