doobraap 2 Report post Posted December 9, 2022 Hi, I was reading the antique sled reg requirements and it states sleds manufactured in year 1994 or older qualify. Any thoughts on a 1995 model that was made the fall of 1994? I always thought they went by model year not mfg date but it does not call out model year anywhere on the application. Just wondering if they would bounce out an application on this technicality. Thanks
snorander 216 Report post Posted December 9, 2022 You will be fine, it is year of manufacture, not model year. I had the same issue a few years ago and was told by Fish and Game it was year of manufacture.
doobraap 2 Report post Posted December 9, 2022 Thanks. 1995 model year was much better for "reliable" antique sleds 1 snorander reacted to this
pathfinder 96 Report post Posted December 10, 2022 Key number is the sled has to be twenty five years old, so as the years go by the "vintage number" gets newer. I ride three vintage that were all registered for $129. each for life, which sounds like a deal, although not long ago that lifetime number was $50. forever. Don't have to worry about the 25 year rule, as my sleds are '73 and 76 model years. pathfinder
doobraap 2 Report post Posted December 11, 2022 (edited) Pathfinder, It changed a few years ago to a fixed year of 1994 and no longer just 25 years old. I wonder if they will adjust it forward in the next few years. I guess they figured too many 1995s were being used as regular sleds and nit typical antiques. Sweet Rup BTW. Was not aware of that. It had been 25 years for a long time. I guess Fish and Game couldn't ignore the huge increase in the vintage sled community and recognized the possible revenue they were missing. Good luck with your '95... pathfinder
