WINNOCTURN 60 Report post Posted August 21, 2018 (edited) Have any of the Club Membership Officers heard from NHSA on their giving "BLOCKS" of VD/ID Numbers to support Club "Online Membership Web Pages" and "Dealer" Application? I had talked to Beth shortly after the NHSA Annual Meeting and it seamed there may be a way of doing this. We stand to loose 61% of our Membership by not having these these 2 Membership Option available this Season. The Doller Value is in the 5 Digit area. This not only is it the Membership Sales but it also effects the Sales of Decals and Map, but above all $$ DONATIONS $$ !!!!!! I heard through the "Grape Line" that "PITSBURG has Requested Blocks of Numbers???? I would appreciate any feedback you my have. After getting our HEADS handed to us by JLCARR on the FnG Proposals I have tried to forget this mess and Enjoy the SUMMER! jhwentworth 307 Report post Posted August 21, 2018 With snowmobile registration and club membership "selling season" only a couple months away, and the compelling interest in selling these items at the earliest possible date, you'd think that the rules would be clear for buyers and sellers by now. For non-residents especially, knowing the available options and how and where to make the club membership purchase is essential. My understanding of the current rules is that the buyer can join a club through the NHSA portal, but not all clubs are listed in the portal. Non-listed clubs need a confirmation number from the NHSA to allow a buyer to get "the discount", and it doesn't appear that NHSA and the non-listed clubs have reached an agreement on how to do that. Registrations are done electronically but still require the buyer to appear in person at a F&G agent or the Concord F&G headquarters, or to make the purchase using the US mail. The state gets the benefit of a tighter audit trail around "the discount", but from a buyers perspective there's little gain and the possible loss of some club membership availability. I think it's clear that non-listed clubs are operating with a handicap, which may be the intent of the current rules. If residents and non-residents, and club members and non-members, all paid the same registration fee you could sell registrations from an interactive Point of Sale device at the Hooksett rest area, from F&G agents, and online. 1 Freedom Rider reacted to this
Freedom Rider 209 Report post Posted August 21, 2018 If everyone wants a very simple registration process just go register in Maine. Cheaper than in NH., Can be done 100% online, Can be done at town halls in Maine, Can be done at dealers, Can be done at clubs, Can be done at Kittery Trading Post, Can be done for a couple of days, and Can be done for a week. Come on New Hampshire take your head out of your ass and fix it or you will be losing alot of Non Residents as well as Residents.

I think that may be some of the NHSA's intent under the proposals for the registration funding legislative changes; but what he is pointing at is past members of the Moultonboro SMC may go to the portal and end up choosing a different club. So the portal system removes the marketing advantage of having only a couple of others clubs to compete with at the local registration station. If you automated and dislocate the entire registration function, it removes even more of the marketing advantage... because you may not even bother to go to the local registration station where the maps/decals/etc are being sold; and you may be less likely to donate to a specific club or area. That means rethinking the marketing strategy for many of the more successful clubs that have used this strategy.
