Owner of Rochester Sports Center has passed away

I did not know Robert Cicchetto, but learned about his passing from a friend this morning.

Apparently he was on his way north for a sledding weekend on Friday.

This was posted by his daughter on his Facebook page:

" Last night while trying to go North for some snowmobiling, he and a friend encountered icy conditions that had them needing to detach the trailer from his truck. Some hold let go, and the trailer ended up running away somehow dragging my Dad underneath. "

According to the post, he was taken to Dartmouth and initially they thought he would be Ok.

I heard about Bobs passing this morning and still don't know what to say. He was a great friend to the snowmobiling community and everyone who knew him, he will truly be missed. RIP!!

Bob was a good friend to the snowmobiling community.  His generosity and knowledge will certainly be missed.  He was always around the local events and loved showing his vintage Arctic Cats.  God bless his family.

I just don't know what to say. Bob was a great man. He truly was an ambassador for the sport, and one of the best guys out there. Peace be with him and his family.

Sorry to hear...he was very involved in the snowmobile, atv, and boating sports/community.  His brother Randy opened up Jerico Motor Sports in Berlin years ago and since has sold it. My blessings go out to the family.

Bob will be missed by everyone who knew him. A true gentleman and always willing to help anyone. One of my memories of Bob; before they had their camp he would unload the sleds at Young's Store without a ramp....

My Father sold Rupp snowmobiles for a few years in the 70's and worked closely with the Cicchetto family who at the time lived in Deerfield. I have known Bob, as long as I can remember. Bob and Helen have been great friends of my wife and I for years and he will be a void in my list of true friends. He was at every Water Cross I can remember and often at other Dances and races the  Northwood CrankPullers hosted. He will certainly be missed. God Bless.
