Well, I wouldn't give full credit to the sled, a bigger part was probably due to the skill of the operator. At least that's what I claim when I finally do get something right. Never hesitate to take credit, because when things go bad you will take the blame. The last time we were up there a crew of federal workers showed up on sleds and spent about a half hour. Don't know what they were supposed to be doing, but they spent the time taking in the beautiful view.
PolarisCobra 131 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 I really was hoping to get up there this year. If you had asked me two weeks ago, I would have said that tomorrow would have been the day. Who would have known how things would change??? 1 snorander reacted to this

Patriot 33 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 Wait a second...if I had known that there was a hot dog stand at the top of Kearsage, I would have made that trip more often! 2 snorander and nhgator reacted to this
MTNBYKR 188 Report post Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) I saw you up there that day Steve. You were just coming down from the goat path to the top when I saw you. I was there with my daughter. I saw the first sled and thought, "Hey that looks like Steve's sled!", and then I saw the other one and said "Hey that looks like Steve's sled!". Lol. You didn't stop in the parking lot tho, you just headed back down the mtn. Then I saw both sleds in your parents driveway on our way back home and knew it was you. If I remember correctly, you have a 2-up seat on the STX now? Edited March 3, 2017 by MTNBYKR 3 snorander, Saluda and ckf reacted to this

snorander 216 Report post Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) Hey Mike, i wish I had seen you, I would have stopped! Is that your Arctic Cat in the picture? I have a two up seat for the Stx when I am with my son and put the one up seat on when it's just me. I was loaded up and about to head north when my nephew called and asked if I could bring the Stx for him to ride. I Didn't have time to put the one up back on, I hadn't even registered it yet. My other nephew came up and between the two of them they put around 150 miles on it. It ran great, especially since it hadn't been used in a few seasons! CATRESERVE 248 Report post Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) Ditto on the pictures. The perfect day it looks like! I always keep plenty of video and pictures on hand for those "blue days" at the end of the season and summer. Maybe we will still get a bit more...I'm and "1/2 full glass" guy! I raised her as a Ski Doo girl, but now that she's all grown up and on her own she bought the Cat (her boyfriend rides Cat). I thought about removing her from the will, but decided against it... Lol. Seriously though... When she bought it two years ago I spent a couple of hours on it and it's a really nice sled! It feels a little faster than my Etec, and it handles really well too. My Etec gets better gas mileage though. The Cat looks really nice too - it's a sharp looking sled (but with terrible wind protection). She absolutely loves it, and I don't see her switching back to Ski Doo any time soon... Edited March 3, 2017 by MTNBYKR 1 snorander reacted to this
snorander 216 Report post Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) I found my new favorite mini loop. I did it quite a few times when I was up there, it's only 11 miles but it's a great little loop. From my parents house head west, take the first trail on the right that crosses Hoyt road, take that to Old Hill Village, to the dam, to the railbed and back to my parents house. Yeah that's a good little loop. I've done it quite a few times as a quick stress reliever after getting home from work. The trail from Hoyt Rd to Old Hill Village needs good snow conditions to be passable though. Lots of rocks... 1 snorander reacted to this
