It has been snowing 11 hours and all we have is a measly 3 inches here on the seacoast.:(

Season over?   Just looked at the long range weather forecast thru Jan. and it doesn't look promising. Even north in Pittsburg, the temps are barely getting down to freezing during the day, and any precipitation is in the form of rain.  How depressing is that! Especially after last seasons dismal snow.

At 1:45pm the temperature was 49° in the shade here in Loudon. On a southwest facing deck the temperature was 57°. A nice, sunny, early Spring day in mid-January.

These up and down temperature swings are becoming a disturbing norm.

Looks like a repeat of last year so far. NWS just revealed forecast thru the end of the month. More of the same Cold and dry, then warm and rain. Going to stay in that pattern until early Feb. then maybe a more wintry pattern may arrive.

Snow pack took a beating here in Bow. Not that the trails have been real good this year, but we are now officially unrideable.

I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it anymore. I didn't think I would have to worry about poor trail conditions when I moved to the NEK of Vermont 3 years ago. A quad or side by side is looking like a better option at this point. I'm only 12 miles from the ATV parking area in North Stratford, NH.

Never thought I could agree with a statement like that until this weekend. Drove to Pittsburg, from home saw temps as high as 48. Rain and bad fog. It ate a lot of the snow. Next morning I dealt with a frozen door and a couple of frozen locks.

It's getting frustrating, Mike. Yes, I know that I could ride, but I'm at the point where I don't want to bother unless the trails are perfect. 10 years ago I would have been out there riding with the marginal conditions that we have now. I don't have a trailer and don't plan on getting one. If I can't ride from home, I'm not riding.

Hang in there guys.  Keep the faith!

Trying, if it wasn't for the wife may have already thrown the towel in. She's extremely addicted but lately the only term that comes to mind is "diminished returns".

Worst trip to Pittsburg (travel) ever and we've been going for a lot of years. We did ride every day and got good miles.

When we picked up the trailer the camp was one sheet of ice, tough just getting out of there. OK, I'm done

bitXXing !

It must be tough for the clubs in southern NH to hang on after having a few crappy winters in a row. If things don't improve before February I'm sure a lot of riders won't bother to register even if we get late season snow.

Kind of curious myself as to how the clubs south of the mountains are holding up. After tonight's bout of snow the long range isn't very promising...shows a mild pacific flow for the rest of the month reaching up into Quebec. Some hints of a pattern flip by February but we've been hearing that since last November. I too am leaning towards a side by side and riding in Maine. I can be into the system in Lebanon Maine with a short 15 minute trailer, and Maine's Warden Service of allowing a little more freedom on the trails is worth the extra registration money to me.

Speaking only for my club, thanks to a snowy December, we already have more members than we did all of last year. Last years memberships were down about 25% from the previous year.
