This is going to become a hot topic very quickly as we get into the riding season. Being on that committee I totally agree that we need to do something to help better fund our trail system but I don't agree with the amount of the increase. All clubs in Rockingham county are against this increase but also agree that something needs change. We'd like to see the fines (off trail, unregistered, loud exhaust) up'd to $248 each and the rental sleds registration increased first. We feel that we should go after the low hanging fruit first then look at what the shortage is and adjust accordingly. Plus this years voucher issue at dealers will cause more people to register as non club members, giving more $ to GIA.
This issue plus the whole NHSA voucher # requirement for registering this year will most certainly have a major impact on smaller clubs and I'm sure we will have more clubs drop out all together. In my personal opinion between the price of new sleds, trailering to the riding areas and the registrations this sport may be on the verge of pricing itself right out of existance. I really hope not as I've put a lot of time into trying to keep this sport around for my kids and future generations.

I went yesterday, got there at around 930, it got busy really fast. GREAT show on the water, RaveX as usual was a crowd hit, although for the third year in a row, their PA system sucked, cutting out, etc. Really glad I went and that it was so busy this year. Snowmobiling certainly isn't dead in NH!

540, not bad for southern NH.

About 650, not bad considering every ride included my wife, a 3 year old and 7 year old. Some days it felt it would be easier to go to the moon than get everyone out on the snow.

Did almost 50 miles today LOCALLY, on the Milton trail system. It's so cool to be able to ride out of my own yard as opposed to having to trailer north for good riding. Kudos to the grooming team!

we were there when the gates opened on Friday.  Stayed most of the evening.  Back again on Saturday from 1ish until 5:30 or so.  Spent lots of money on gear and stuff.  Had a blast, talked to a lot of folks and watched a lot of racing on all sides.  Probably one of the best events they have put on.

Went on Saturday, place was PACKED! Well managed, good parking, AWESOME drags and water cross. Ton of flea market stuff too. Anyone else go? Opinions?

The one thing being overlooked in this project is that the club has already cut trail and built bridge on this persons property without permission thinking they were on someone else's land.
NH has a very strong Timber Theft law and Criminal Trespass law's as well. Baby steps should be taken. I would involve Trails Bureau to smooth over rough edges and show the landowner it was an honest mistake that you were misled by an abutter and there was no ill intent. I have seen this same thing happen and Trails Bureau kept the club out of court and was able to negociate a use permit with BOT named instead of club.

I am by no means discouraging posting about the latest issues, NHSA included, but sometimes we have 3 new posts in one day about the NHSA. People PM me calling the site SledNHSA because of the stuff. I read every post that's made, but I think one or 2 posts will cover all that's said. Look at the post history and you'll see what I mean.
I have no "personal feeling" on the subject. My personal opinion is that posts can be added to, not create new ones every day for the same thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've merged many threads as an Administrator on Snowmobileforum.com for years, and people thank me for it.

I understand what it IS, but we don't need 5246 NEW posts about it.. Sheesh. Look at posting history on this site... Do we REALLY need a NEW post every time??
