So,in the future, next year, when you register your sled, signing it acknowledges you know off trail is illegal. It also states, if caught your registration is pulled for the year, sled impounded, and there is a fine also. This is my thought. Sure you are going to lose sleds to Maine, but you are keeping trails open. JMO

    ATVs on public roads issues

I read this as an attempt at a creative compromise proposal of sorts. The one article would ban use on all town roads. The administrator would work with the club's and land owners to find alternative trails. Presumably that might eventually include some "non problem" town roads. Would also report at town meetings. Presumably, there would be more visibility by the town at large into club activities, tax payer concerns, challenges and visversa. The Colebrook club has come out against both articles. My thoughts are that an overall ban is a bad idea, but increased transparency and participation by the town is probably a good idea. Compromise has become a dirty word these days, but it's probably the only path to an amenable solution.

I was more focused on the town hiring someone to basically act as a trail administrator. I don't think that I have ever seen that approach before.

Shifty great call on the trails in Littleton area and further north. Friday's ride had picture perfect blue sky with nice flat trails and the perfect temp. It was probably the most scenic ride we had in many years. Even the stretch of Corridor 11 just past the Notch was groomed. Here is a snapshot of our route leaving from Rumney.

I had a great weekend. Took the 99 out for a sunny no helmet cruise on Friday. 177 solo miles on Saturday and a relaxing 50 mile spin this morning with my son.
