Topics I've Started

Mon, Tues, Wed

07 March 2012 - 05:45 PM

First of all from CATFANATIC and myself, we want to thank PRR, SDR, Colebrook Ski bees, Grovton trail blazers, Milan riders and Umbagog clubs. You all do a fantastic job working the trails to perfection. You all run a first class system and all the groomers and volenteers are to be commended. :good: :clapping:

I just got back home from a 2 days of riding. We stayed at Tall Timbers again as they run a first class joint. We arrived at 3:00pm on Monday afternoon and hit the trails until 6:00. total of 101.6 miles on absolutelty flat conditions.

We started out early on Tuesday morning (5:30) All trails were hit by groomers and we headed north to Candian boader and back, up to tower for sunrise and to the south and had breakfast at Errol Resturant.102 miles by 8:25am and saw 3 sleds on the way. Finshed the day wrapping back around through Milan and up through Colebrook into Swift diamond back in the Burg by 4:15pm with 280 miles for the day. Flat, Flat and more Flat!!! :yahoo:

Today we started at 0600 and had a plan of being trailered by 12:00 to head home. So we did our normal northern loop 142,141,5 to boarder, 5 south and decided to find the "Magalloway Bowl" Finally found it!!! didnt have it in me to try to climb as there is no room to coast down. wusss I guess :nea: Bakc to the truck with 126 miles for today.

Total miles 507 miles of flat, fast riding. I dont have the pictures, but CATFANATIC should post them tonight.

Probably last trip of the year, and just over 1200 miles for the year despite the snow conditions. Finally broke the 10,000 mile mark on my 2004 Renagade. Time for a new one. :drinks:

Bretton Woods area/ Fabians

21 February 2012 - 06:49 PM

Thinking of going up skiing next week when the kids are on vacation and thought about bring up sleds an dpotentially ride a day while we are up there. Anyone know if you can ride directly out of Bretton woods ski area or do you have to trailer to Fabians and start there?

Has anyone rode out of there in the last weekend or so, and do you have any condition update.

Thanks

Riding this past Thurs+Fri

19 February 2012 - 08:56 AM

Trailered up to Tall Timbers on Wednesday evening for a couple of days riding. Arrived and it was 35.7 degrees :nea: However, got an early start at 5:30 with CATFANATIC and headed out. Unbelievable what PRR and SDR are doing to make a difficult situation great. We found flat groomed trails with light traffic. We put on 99.7 miles before we saw a sled. Total miles for the day 254.3 and we were done at 3:10pm. Finally found the trail to the fire tower. :yahoo: Had a great dinner at rainbow grill.

Got another early start on Friday moring and woke up to a wet snow. Made it difficult to see, but dropped about 3-4 inches up on the north side of the trails. :spiteful: Went up to Stub hill as we always do and then put the miles on. 224.8 by 1:13pm and trailered up and headed home before the weekend pressure.

Just under 475 miles for the couple of days. I need 322 miles to break 10,000 miles on my 2004 Renagade which I hope to do in a couple of weeks. with these temps going forward I am not sure if it will happen.
