Pittsburg Trail Report w sum pics

24 December 2009 - 12:39 AM

just back from pittsburg and I figured Id share a trail report,
Riding was 85-90% SMOOTH. everything north of town was amazing for early season.
everything around the conn. lakes up to the border was 98% Fantastic!
They got about 4 fresh inches yesterday and it was flurrying throughout the day and ipretty cold (5-8degrees) and there was no shortage of powder!
down into town around Youngs got a little bumpy and thin but rideable and still decent for early season
only saw 4 other sleds all day! and 2 gassing up at youngs.... saw 3 groomers throughout the day. (THANKS FOR YOUR TIME GUYS!!!)
We clicked 100 miles from 1030-330.... best trail IMO was 140.... flat and FAST! We also crossed a groomer at 230 on 5 so it was obviously awesome past that... we also did about 10-15 miles on an untouch unmarked trail with 8-10" of fresh pow.
All in all a great day!

New guy

30 November 2009 - 01:45 AM

Hello everyone
my name is Jon and I'm 26 residing in Nashua
I'm new to this forum (also just joined doo-talk and hcs) but not so new to riding. I rode a few times years ago nothing serious than in 05 I picked up my own sled... For the 1st couple winters I rode very little because I didn't know anyone that rode... Finally last year I did about 1000 miles or so after hooking up with a couple groups of riders. I'm still an intermediate rider obviously. Anyways I usually ride the ossipee area with one group and the Errol area with the other as they have a cabin in Errol. I'm very excited for this season as I just picked up a new machine last week.
See you on the trails!
