Our road trip to Wyoming video

08 May 2012 - 08:48 AM

Hey guys, I haven't been on here much this year but I figured I would share the video from our trip out to Alpine, Wyoming Last month. It was 39 hours out and 36 hours back. We burned $2250 of diesel getting 12 mpg in a Cummins powered, Mega Cab towing a 4 place enclosed 101 wide trailer.

If I had to describe the trip I would have to say "Life Changing" . Put it on your bucket list now. No Really.

Spear fishing

Broke my rear axle and the track got loose. Then when I hit a sharp bump I sucked the track into the skid. Those Cat extrovert drives sure like to hold onto the track. Even broke my anti stabe axle. Oops. This was the last ride for this track anyway. It had 2 hard seasons of stump grinding and I figured it was time to get a fresh one. The hillclimb track is ready to go in the attick anyway.

Stump hunting.

Did some stump hunting after the snow storm. This is one of my favorite spots to go hide in the woods. Undisclosed location. If you can find it I will buy you a peanut butter cup ;)

Took a ride from my Dad's place on Salmonfalls Road in Rochester to Moose mountain last night on my 91 Phazer 136 and my friend rode my 86 Phazer 116. Those things are soo fun. The trails were just a little rough in places for mine since the air shock on the skid was suppose to have oil in it  They definately put a little more sport in riding with the old 1/2 paddle track. I am not much of a trail rider but I have a ton of fun on the old clunkers. They handle really good when the trails are in decent shape and they don't take up much trail since they are pretty narrow. We actually cought up to a couple new sleds and they waved us by when they realized we had cought up to them. They must have been surprised to see those funky old things go by them in a cloud of sno dust. 45 mph on old sleds on sothern trails is a nice comination. Definatly not going to break any speed limits with 50 horsepower but you feel like your going 100 on them. I kinda want to start a little classic sled riding crew to get together for group rides, it would be a hoot.
