Its unfortunate so early but our 2012 riding season has finally come to an end and our complete trail system is now closed. Our season started off late with a minimal amount of snow and ended early with a total to date of 122" of snow. The previous 5 seasons have been between 154" and 221" WOW thats a big difference! We all have more to hope for next season. All in all we had a good season and made the best of what we had to deal with till the very end. Things did get a little stressful this winter with a breed of riders we do not always get so many of, we had many landowner issues and ran out of no snowmobiling signs 4 times throughout the season. We made it through some difficult landowner issues with F&G help, lets hope for a better season to come!
As your club PRR thanks you for your continued support. We will be posting work parties up on the website as things come up. Your help is always welcome and needed. Its currently 39 degrees and sunny. Our 2012 trail system is 40% open. Trails on the west side of rte 3 are all closed. Trails closed on the East side of rte 3 are 138, 139, and 140 which means you will need to trailer north to East inlet to snowmobile. You can no longer snowmobile to Gas, food or lodging. Expect spring riding conditions which include rocks, stumps, water , open waterbars, and dirt. Most trails exposed to the heat and sun this week will most likely have bare spots, if riding this weekend expect to find gravel in spots! We expect to close all trails Monday March 26, 2012 Thank you all for your continued support of the Pittsburg Ridge Runners!

Its currently 39 degrees and cloudy. We have had some warm weather and even some rain overnight. Our trailbase continues to reduce with the warm temps. Our 2012 trail system is 75% open. Trails through town and south to the Vermont border have been closed effective today. Youngs field which runs between Dormans gas and Youngs store will remain closed due to lack of snow as well as trail 140 on the back side of Lake Francis. Trails just north of Back Lake are in poor to fair condition, and trails and logging roads to the north are in good condition. Please obey all signs there are several logging areas to pay special attention to. Perry stream road is CLOSED above the Ramblewood junction 158 and we have built a trail to the side of the road between jct 341 and 158 please stay on this trail and off the logging road. Magalloway rd. is shared in from rte 3 to almost the south Bay junction 480 in this area you need to stay off the road and on the trail that we have built to the side. Snowmobiling in town is a great way to get to food, fuel , and lodging but Riding is best in the higher elevations where there is a deeper snow pack. Grooming may continue if temperatures and conditions permit. Please join us this Saturday March 17 at 10am for our last race in this seasons vintage race series where the racers will be vying for the top spots and will be crowned this seasons champions. Race will be held in the Farr Rd. gravel pit just off of Back Lake rd. spectators are just $5.00. Please stay tuned to the website and snow phone for future updates.

Its currently 20 degrees and snowing. We have had some warm weather and even some rain over the past few days which started the spring thaw early. Overnight we received 3-5" of new snow to help our trails for the weekend. Our 2012 trail system is 95% open. Trail conditions are poor to fair through town and south, and very good on most logging roads to the north. Youngs field which runs between Dormans gas and Youngs store will be closed today due to lack of snow as well as trail 20 from jct. 486 to the Vermont border due to flooding and thin snow cover. Please watch for water flooding the trails in some places throughout the trail system, it can be very deep! Please obey all signs there are several logging areas to pay special attention to. Perry stream road is CLOSED above the Ramblewood junction 158 and we have built a trail to the side of the road between jct 341 and 158 please stay on this trail and off the logging road. Magalloway rd. is shared in from rte 3 to almost the south Bay junction 480 in this area you need to stay off the road and on the trail that we have built to the side.
