Stewartstown Lodging Recommendations?

31 January 2012 - 03:20 PM

I'm planning a sledding trip to the Pittsburg area with 3 other guys (a total of 4 of us), and am looking for some good recommendations on places to stay. Historically, we've rented rooms in the lodge at Sportsmans Lodge, but they don't rent rooms in the lodge anymore. Can anyone make additional recommendations? We'd love a place that served meals on-site, but can do our own cooking if need be (but that is definitely not ideal). I would like to get 3 rooms (two of us would like to have our own room and two will be sharing a room).

Trip Dates: March 8/9/10 for two nights (Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th).

Any suggestions?

Ossipee to Gorham

25 January 2011 - 04:58 PM

Hi everyone. I am planning on heading to Gorham from Ossipee. I seem to recall that it is 19 all the way up, but haven't done the trip in a few years. Any hints, suggestions, and/or cautions from anyone? How about suggestions on places to eat once I arrive?

Thanks in advance for the help

Garmin GPS Trailmaps of PRR and SDR

28 February 2010 - 04:01 PM

I understand that there are downloadable trailmaps for PRR and SDR systems in northern New Hampshire, and was wondering if anyone could give me some input on them. What website can I get them from, and are they accurate? I have a Garmin GPS 60csx and would love to have the maps on my GPS for an upcoming trip.

Giant Snowstorm in MA!

10 February 2010 - 02:22 PM

Quote from Boston.com on the giant storm hitting the Boston area today: "“Once we get into this afternoon, it's going to be bad out there," said Alan Dunham, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Taunton.....Governor Deval Patrick directed state agencies to release all non-emergency personnel at noon."

Ummm, it hasn't snowed a flake yet here in Cambridge and it's 2:00.
