What a great way to celebrate Presidents day...120+ miles from Fabyans through the Presidential Range.
11 North / 12 East / 19 North. Poked around Waumbek Methnas system and took 11 South back to Fabyans. 12 sucked in a few spots, it was down to gravel. Until we get more snow, I would take 11 North to 116 to 119 North. All in all, the conditions were surprisingly good.

Corridor 17

I took a ride from the SNHSS parking lot up corr 15 through Bear Brook SP. From 15 I took 360 North to 361 East to the trails end at Northwood Lake. At the Southeastern end of the lake there was a Boy Scout camp. If I kept going would that have brought me to corr 17? It appears very close on the State map, but no connecting trail. I was pressed for time and couldn't go any further. I would eventually like to take 17 to 15 again and up to Laconia.
The trails were awesome all the way through. Hats off to the groomers.

polaris cooling problem
15 February 2008 - 06:03 PM
I admit I'm not the greatest at wrench turning, but I know enough to get by.
I picked up a 2000 Polaris xcsp 500 for my kid. I told him to stop if he sees any dash lights come on. 2 miles out, he's trailside, temp light on. I figgure, first year rider, going too slow, not kicking up enough snow to cool it. I take it for a blast, no power at all and it's bogging down.Light stays on.
So I get under the girls skirt, no leaks, plenty of coolant, no kinks in the hoses. I call the polaris dealer to see if he has a t-stat in stock, and he doubts that's the problem, he has never sold a t-stat. He suggests checking the belt to the water pump. I dont want to start ripping shiznit apart needlessly, but I don't see anything that looks like a belt driven pump. I do see what looks like a water pump on the bottom of the motor. Is that it? Possibly driven by the crank? Anybody had a similar situation? Any suggestions? I hate to take it to the dealer and pay big coin.
School vacation week is next week and I wanted to get in some miles with the kids. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I was planning to hit the SOS trails today, but could only ride until noon, so I went to SNHSS trails. The groomer was out early, and made for a nice ride. It was a little rough on the rail bed(ungroomed), but once I hit the pond area, it was great. Awesome job guys, a lot of credit is due to the groomers, who not only gave up a day of riding, but a holiday as well. Thanks---Dave [attachment=1198:snhss_gr...r_1_1_08.JPG]SNHSS grooming 1-1-08
