In Topic: Who else got to ride the 30 miles of moguls from rangely to Pittsburg!
30 January 2012 - 07:36 PM
NH Trail Chief, on 30 January 2012 - 03:22 PM, said:The trails were rough on Friday evening in Maine. In discussions with the Rangley folks this morning they wanted to apologize for not being able to get out. Bosebuck just got a groomer this past week and it was not ready for this weekend. The Rangely area wanted the riders to come for the weekend and riders certainly did get out. The trails around Pittsburg and Rangely lake were busy and so were the businesses, which is a good thing for all of us.
There are a few incorrect points in some of the posts which can be corrected. The Rangely club and businesses was a driving force in the getting the resciprocity weekend approved. They have not been able to get additional groomers to keep ITS 84 as groomed as folks would like and a lot of folks did not anticipate the number of sleds that would be around this weekend (limited riding in most other areas in New England put a lot of extra pressure on Corridor 20/ITS 84).
Maine is already started planning to correct issues for next years resciprocity weekend. I rode to Ocquasit on Friday for fuel and lunch like many other riders did. Pittsburg Ridge Runners did a great job with the trails and Swift Diamond Riders also did a good job. ultimately, it was a chance to ride and I was happy to have gotten the chance to get out and talk to riders at the intersections.

LOL...I got one too but have no "other" info. Have been meaning to ask our local dealer about it. Thought it strange as our trails closed about March 15 last season. Would have made more sense to have the up north session later in the year vs down here.

Sticking to the objective is nice and sure things can get out of hand quick but lets not take ourselves and the mission statement too seriously. BTW - I doo think it's funny. Even thought it was funny back when I rode cats.
Edit: there seem to be a bunch of off topic stuff that slides in and that never seems to be a big problem either.
