We are sad to say The Hut will not be open 'till the start of next year's riding season (2012-2013). We want to thank all of our customers, new and long time friends, for all your support and fun we have had with you! We will miss you and hope you have a great summer.
Sue & Bob Gaudette, Grace Carlin, Al Goudreau, Helga & Mark Ziegler, Fred Hamel, Ron & Amanda Smith, your Warming Hut 2012 team!
Special thanks to all of you who made soups, baked goods and other treats for us to serve. To the wonderful ladies & gentlemen who work at The Ridge Runners Clubhouse making our turkey soup, you are the best!
Your Warming Hut hosts,
Bob & Sue Gaudette

Pittsburg Trail Congestion This Season.
11 March 2012 - 06:23 PM
I have been disturbed this low snow season over the lack of tolerance by some experienced snowmobilers during holiday weeks and on weekends. During these times we need to expect the unexpected and slow down. We need to be especially cautious over hills and around blind corners.
If you come to Pittsburg on holiday weeks and weekends and do not expect to have heavy traffic and/or inexperienced riders on the trails please stay home. Remember you experienced riders were inexperienced when you first started to ride.
As experienced snowmobilers we need to set an example and educate the new comers to our sport and inform them of the proper trail etiquette. When you have an opportunity stop and talk to your fellow snowmobilers, you will find they are really nice people!

First Connecticut Lake Weather Report.
27 February 2012 - 05:41 PM
Since the end of last week we have picked up 16 inches of new snow here at the First Connecticut Lake. Many, many more inches in the higher elevations.
It is snowing moderately here at 5:25 pm and we may pick up another 1 to 3 inches by tomorrow morning.
If you can get up here this week you will have a great time.
The forecast for Wednesday, Wednesday night and into Thursday is calling for more snow. Then a warm up over the weekend which is actually a good thing to help compact the snow pack and give the groomers more packable snow to work with.
The best of the 2012 snowmobile season in the 'Burg is yet to come!!!!!
