Welcome to the EVSC January Newsletter!
There were quite a few members in attendance at Tuesday's meeting. Here's what we discussed:
1) Trails are open, but pretty beat now with the warm weather and rain we have received. Those of you who went out at the end of December and the beginning of January know how great the trails CAN be when Mother Nature cooperates!
Respect Landowners!
Stay on marked trails, and do not stray from them! A LOT of landowners give us the opportunity to ride through their property, and we need to remember that they are letting us BORROW the trail! Abuse it, we LOSE it! If you find trash, pick it up! Every little bit helps!
2) The hours for the Milton Town Beach Park n' Ride are 8AM to 6PM daily, WEATHER AND CONDITIONS PERMITTING!
3) Milton Lakeside Mart is CLOSED!! The only place to get fuel on our trail system at this moment is at the Irving in Union. Cumberland Farms in Milton has fuel, but NO trail access. Keep this in mind when coming to ride! REMEMBER, IT IS ILLEGAL TO RIDE THE LIVE RAILROAD TRACKS to Cumberland farms!
4) Save the date! The Milton Winter Carnival is Saturday, February 16th! We will be hosting snowmobile radar runs in the morning, then drags after that. There will be a Vintage Sled corral at the beach too, so come show your old iron!
We will also be selling food at our concession stand, along with Milton Cub Scouts Pack 155. Volunteers are needed to man the concessions, etc.
Please E-mail the site if you'd like to donate some time!
5) We are thinking of doing a Poker Run fundraiser in March. It will start at the Town Beach and do a loop of our trail system, finishing back at the beach. Final plans will be done at the February meeting.
6) Finally, if you're by Milton Pump and Filter, stop in and thank Diane for all the work she's doing to register sleds, issue club memberships, etc. We couldn't do it without her!
That's it for this month, SEE YOU ON THE TRAILS!!!
The next club meeting is Tuesday, February 12th, 2008!
