If you are going to be riding in Pittsburg following this warmup, Garfield Falls should be quite spectacular. I bet it would be well worth the hike in off of Trail 112.

Thumper,
We took your advice and after riding 85 miles on some well groomed pittsburg trails we hiked down to the falls and it was quite spectaculer,I bet it would be awsome to see early summer when u could safely get closer and get on to the rocks.Definately worth the walk down.

We did the same thing Saturday as well, pretty cool. I did get a friendly reminder of what my socks do when I walk in my snowmobile boots-fun having the whole damn things down near out toes by the time I was back to my sled. Trails were surprisingly good in my opinion-another foot and we should be back in great shape

You say the falls is off or on 112 in pittsburgh. Is there a marker on 112 to mark the location?

If you are heading south on 112 - go past the intersection of trail 143 (I think it's less than a mile). You will see a wooden Kiosk on the left side of the trail (but I don't know if there is anything posted on it). There is a outhouse on the right side of the trail. The footpath to the falls goes off the left (east) side of the trail near the kiosk.

There is room to pull off the trail on either side.

In the past I've taking the cart road just past the path on the left down to the river and have drove up the river to the falls. We use to do this every year for a while back when it was really cold and the river would freeze enough..

I've walked the path in the summer but that is one steep hill to do it in the winter with all of your gear on.. I also hate it when the socks go down into the boots!
