Tim: I've never been to a poker run. What is it?

Here is the Wikipedia definition:

A Poker run (also known as a Poker Derby) is an organized event using a motorcycle, boat, car or other form of transportation where participants travel over a predesignated route and, at designated stops on the route, draw playing card(s). The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Prizes (usually cash prizes) are awarded for the best hand; some runs will award smaller awards for lower hands. Poker runs usually require a fee to enter; part of the fee goes to funding the event (including the prizes), while the rest goes to the event's cause (usually a charity of some sort). Specific rules and details vary, depending on the event. Moreover, each participant will be responsible to maintain the integrity of their cards during the run.

That was put better than I could have done it. We will have 5 destinations each destination you will grap a chip, the final destination (clubhouse) you will turn in your chips(numbered from each station 1-5) you will then be dealt a hand. Cash prizes for the best hands will be awarded. We try to spread the route out, the goal is to get members and other snowmobiles to get to know our system. It's fun for the whole family.

Most I have seen you colect chips so no one cheats and most don't give you much grief if you miss a stop because if you missed it most likly others have too , Plus hell they have you money already . A couple I have been to if you pay a couple of bucks before you draw you get a couple of extra cards. you will have fun but if you are like me its just a donation because I never win anything
