The Goose neck between the Richardsons is always a dangerous spot, Thanks for the advice.
I was gonna do a Google Map, but had the same issue when up loading
I would bet many here would enjoy that ride, if they knew a safe route

HondaFixer,

A picture IS worth a thousand words.

Your track log confirms my suspicion that you get on the trails in Sunday Cove, and
do not ride up the Rapid River. While riding up the Rapid River might be possible
under ideal conditions, I think it would be a lot more risky that entering
via Sunday Cove as you did.

The mouth of the Rapid gets squeezed down to a very narrow passage where
the currents and rocks cause it to swirl and bubble. The main channel can be as deep
as 18 feet, with boulders the size of pickup trucks under the surface.
And the water levels can rise and fall as dam releases change.
All that leads me to believe that ice cover on the river itself can
be quite unpredictable. I do not think I'd try it. If you ever went though the ice,
the current would drag you under the ice real quick.

Thanks for posting this. I have wanted to do this ride for years.
This may give me the courage to actually give it a shot one day.

:drinks: :clapping:

Just watch out for a couple of small pressure ridges on the lakes. If you stay right on that route you will be safe. We left Oquossoc at night and followed the gps track all the way back.
