My son and I drove 5+ hours Friday looking forward to a nice night ride. Unloaded sleds, got registrations and got rained on.
Went back to the cabin, had a couple beers, started snowing at 8pm. We went to bed early because we wanted to get on the trail by 8am.
Woke up to 3+ inches of new snow, left the cabin to be greated by three deer. We rode RTs 5 to 20 to 144 to 145 back to 5 to the Canadian border.
Maybe saw 4-5 sleds. Beautiful trails, was lovin' life. Stopped at the Warming Hut at 10:30 early lunch, good company/conversation, then back on the trail. Took RT 5 most of the way back, great riding. As we came back toward town, sledders were coming from everywhere. Glad we were back by 12 noon.
My son said, Dad good idea getting out early. That's about as close to a compliment I get these days from a 15 year old. We got up Sunday morning and were on the trail by 8am. Again the trails (especially Rt 5 were it intersects with 139) was some of the best riding I have done. Rt5 was like a paved highway, we were smiling from ear to ear. We saw plenty of deer going back to the cabins, wonderful scenery. Thank you again to all the groomer operators for doing such a tremendous job this past weekend. Thank you to the Landry family for such wonderful accomodations at A Path Less Traveled !! We look forward to riding your trail system again soon. Polaris Pete & Brendan
