I remember Marty! Way back before cable it was channel 8 and nothing else. Marty's weather forecast and his signature smile when he signed off was the highlight of the telecast.
Yes Marty on the mountian. We only got two channels in the notch in the summer,channel9 and channel 8 on channel 9. In the winter we picked up 6 and 13 when the leaves were down and there is ice on the cliff.
It is going to snow alot soon.I severely sprained my right wrist(fell on ice). Riding right now is out of the question(cant even get the trailer door down)The Dr said 6-8 weeks.Im thinking riding in 2-3 if Im lucky.

Don Kent.. that's a name from the past. That was when weathermen
were real weathermen. Not this crap about computer models!! Do you remember Boomtown
with Rex Trailer that was on WBZ?

Oh yea, those were the good old days for kids' TV. How about Major Mudd?

Boomtown Oh yea! Do you remember the Big Brother Show? I was on there :yahoo: :yahoo:

Here's a few more Major Mudd, Romper Room (not to be confused with a porn site I'm sure ha ha)Capt Kangaroo,Bozo the clown, remember Dale Dorman (DJ wrko) WOW! we better get some dam snow soon!

I met Dale Dorman when I was in college, he had hair to his butt and it needed a washing. What a disappointment. Bozo the clown later in life did a late night movie show on Channel 5; he hated to be reminded that he was Bozo.

Mike Hadad was a neighbor of mine years ago. Nice guy.He could walk out of the house and give you exact details of what the weather would be that day. I wonder who he listened to for his weather reports.

Come on Rob, NOTHING will beat the fun of helping make the FIRST New England Sled Fest be a GREAT SUCCESS,,,, we had another meeting tonight,,,
If you REALLY want to know whats being felt in my GUT right now,,,,,, I see a SLAM DUNK.... I have VERY good cause for this feeling,,,,
I feel the pain of losing the month of January and a poor look to the early Part of Feb,,,,,,

I see the New England Sled Fest as being a bit "insulated" from the weather,, I see a great PASSION and Commitment to our sport,,,, and I am POSITIVE we will have a great time with Natural or manmade snow

I don't remember all those guys in upstate NY we had Bird Berdan

Three stations at my grandmothers one of which was channel 8 then advertised as Poland Springs, Maine. That seemed like a million miles away.

That was quite a storm. We had a 340 TNT at the time and we were riding all over the roads in
Dover. Families were riding to the local market for food deliveries.
