So I'm an internet person, but I try to support the local dealer. Everytime I go for a part I have to order it seems. (Well my sleds are around 10yrs old so ok). But what pisses me off is I have to call to see if the part is in. Wasn't told this earlier experiences, I just called on a whim to see if it was in and was told yup. So i'm ok, just a fluke. Today my wife called and they told her to call tuesday or wed. Does this make any sense at all. They should be calling me when its in. I realize they get lots of parts in but for me to call everyday and ask is it in is a waste of my time and there time. Am I off base here? Are all dealers like that?

Would this be HK In Hooksett by any chance? I have had that happen with them before. I don't know if all dealers are like that. I do believe that during the busy season all dealers are so busy they seem to run around like chickens with their heads cut off....it is what it is I guess...These days I tend to just order my parts on line. I do however call HK to see if they have it in stock and when they do I buy from them...

No, it's a lot of dealers.
I ordered parts from a local dealer and they took my number. I called the day it was supposed to be in, which they told me it was in. When I got there the guy told me it had been in for more than an hour. They weren't very busy and was wondering why I didn't get a phone call... I just chalked it up as "better stay on 'em". Now I'll call 100 times since they don't want to call me.

Not All dealers..But many this time of year (especially for sleds)get over unendated with Phone call's ... wether it be to order a part, a customer is seeking some info on a problem...or trying to find out where "your" part is?? , as they hadn't recieved it from their "part Source" wether that be the Manufacturer or another warehouse...
Not that it's real easy to run any buisness..but in these times you would think that they would appreciate your buisness and do what they feel is best for you..( Not always' themselves)...
Just a thought here... But if "recieving" takes in a part ( or any parts counter personel )... and they log they recieved it from fed-x/ups/ their own parts pick-up source..ect...
"You guy's are correct"..I don't know many that DON'T..take your name and number..They took your Cash or creditcard # to bill you... So in the Case of "Pekabu" they should be calling the Noted Phone# saying it is in... by the end of the day's buisness hours.
But also on that note: their are many time's they do call the customer and leave a message( answering machine or someone answer's and forgets to tell you ? ).. thats not their fault..they may wait a day or 2 and recall back, or just figure you will call if you want it promptly..

I have ordered parts from Hudson Cycle and from Route 3A motors and every time the parts come it, I get a call. Maybe becasue I am a dealer with an account they call me because I do not have to pre-pay before it is ordered I am not sure.
As far as any dealer being too busy to call, I do not think that is the case this season. If I was full time delaership and ordered parts I would make sure to call every customer that placed an order to tell them it was in. I think the big dealers are more worried about how to sell their 14K+ dollar snowmobiles rather than a 20 to 100 dollar part order. Just my thoughts. Roy

Must be just me. It's HK. The did say Tuesday or Wednesday for this latest part so I guess I will call both days to see how accurate they are. The last two parts sat there a week before I called. It's not like I order parts all the time, but the last 6 or so times I've had to call. Not a huge deal but I guess I just need to figure out the way things work.

Whenever I order things from Bickford's, Ms. Paula calls to let me know it has arrived! And she keeps it a secret when it's a present for my boyfriend! LOL! LOVE that place!
