I can just come to your house or I was thinking of parking down at profile falls..I assume I can park there....What time will you be ready to go? Trailers all loaded up & hooked to the car So I can be there bright & early. Or I can be at my parents bright & early and ride towards Old Hill village/Bristol & meet up with you there...

BUT !! I think it's been around longer.. My Wife's cousin live in one of Daniel Webster's Sister's homes in Hill (Old /New Village) Which he has info that it was built by him for her I believe.. and the date's go further back...

Did Daniel Webster have a sister?

Yes. Daniel Webster had nine siblings, five of whom were sisters (three full sisters; two half-); four were older than Daniel, who was born in 1782.

The trails are rough. Not enough snow to cover tall rocks and tree stumps.
If you really need to get out, best to stay away from deeps woods trails. Fields and open trails are fine
Classic early season riding. All clubs around Bristol have NOT groomed.
We panned for 5 hours today, just to help create a base.

Nox

Rode the railbed from Franklin to Danbury. It was surprisingly good, with a few bony spots where you could hear the small rocks on the skis. The nice thing is that since all the ballast has been removed, there aren't the usual bigger rocks to worry about. And of course without much snow depth, there isn't enough to get bumpy yet. It was actually really smooth.

One word of caution though. Be careful along the edges of the railbed. There is just enough snow to cover obstacles so you may not see them, but not enough to keep you from hitting them.

The woods trail between my house and the railbed was pretty sketchy. I had to creep along and work my way around rocks. Honestly, if it wasn't only a mile to get over there, I would have trailered over. There isn't enough snow cover in the woods yet to ride more than 5 or 10 mph, and even that was iffy.

ColdBrew, I don't want to turn you away, but don't want you to think its awesome riding.

We do have full ground snow cover.

No problem. I just want to be smart. With my limited experience I just want to do the right thing. I'd love to get out and I can follow a trail, but I wouldn't know the good ones from the bad ones so maybe I should wait for better conditions.

(it's just killing me) :pardon:

A few of us are going to temp this ride tomorrow. Mostly to flush out any issues with snoranders sled.
And get it out of out systems too. No fast riding, just getting the wind thru our helmets.

I think the trail through old hill village will be fine and fun.
If you are interested, you can catch up with us at Profile Falls first thing in the morning?
