Feel free to tell the newbie to shut up but I had to share with y'all.
I was driving my son to CHaD today and we go over through Andover. There is a recreational trail that travels alongside Route 11 (I think it is 11 at that point) and it looked pretty gosh darn good. I even stopped the car and got out to take a bit of a walk down it. Other sleds had been on it but it wasn't super frozen and rutted up. Gates were open as far along it as I saw while driving. Does anyone know what club that belongs to? Also, why did it seem to have so much snow on it? Looked like a good at least 8 inches on it. Does that area just get more snow?
Thanks!

I always take that ride first time every year just in case something happens to a sled after sitting all summer. Did that Saturday and yes the sled messed up. The boys Crossfire clutches would not release. Only went up the trail 3 miles and back. You can take it all the way up to Leb. You can unload at the salt shed or where 4 turns north and goes to Danville. There is a park and ride there.

Me and a buddy did our annual shakedown run last saturday on the railbed. We left from the Andover salt shed and rode through Danbury ,Grafton, and we were very close to Canaan when conditions diminished enough so we turned around. The trail is pretty beat right now, and yesterday afternoon it rained like hell while I was working in Grafton. What is on the trail is a frozen snirt base. One good storm and it should be sweet.
Just an FYI , while in the Grafton store I saw a notice for Rt 5 south access you need to obtain that from Lebanon,Mascoma Lake area.

I cant believe you didnt keep me in the loop on that ride.i didnt even know they had snow there. That is one of my favorite places to ride and it was also one of the first places I use to ride all the time when I first started sledding in 1998.I am gonna have to give Eric & ole Ironbutt a talking too because they BOTH live practicly on the trail. Also I cant believe Dave hasn't said it was rideable :-(

I want to ride !!! Keep us I'm the loop, I don't want to go too far from Concord to domamshake down run with my sled I bought in March.
If that does not work out, I will be checking some trails to Turkey pond. (west side of Concord)
The place (Turkey Pond) is solid and if we get some snow thur / fri / sat a trailride may be possible.
