In conjunction with the Bureau of Trails, the OVSC will be opening our gates this morning.

That said, we must be brutally honest with potential riders of our system. There is not enough snow in our system to pack or pan, let alone even think of grooming. Snow cover ranges from several inches to maybe a half a foot or so in upper elevation. Many stumps, rocks and sticks protrude from the thin cover.

Additionally if you choose to ride the rail bed on Corridor 19 you need to be aware that rails, switches and spikes remain fully exposed in many stretches and you will most likely damage your sled if you insist on riding those areas.

We are being realistic. No matter how we spell out the conditions there are folks already riding our trails with the gates closed.

If you really need to scrath the itch we would ask that you stay within the confines of the White Lake State Park area and give our trails a lttle more time for additional snow and freezing temperatures.

We will update our website later on today for those coming up for the Holiday weekend!

Thanks.....

Please, join a Club where you regularly ride...and when you see a Groomer Jar hopefully give what you can as every penny counts!
