You know, your club might be able to fundraise by doing a poker run sort of thing during this. This is gonna be great! You all are brave to take this on!

STUPID?????? ya think,,,, heck ya!

Then again, one of my favorites is,,

It ain't the size of the dog in the fight , it's the size of the fight in the dog.....,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and when you are a "big dog" willing to fight,,, you can accomplish what you put your mind to.

Now the polker run,,,,, hummmm I will be watching all the "assistant dogs",,,, and then determine what we can add on for next year.

Is a poker run what I am thinking of? Like a scavenger hunt and, if you get to all the spots, you get entered for raffles and such? Is that a poker run? :/

"Typically a poker run is a snowmobile gig, where snowmobiles travel a predetermined route with special stops to collect poker cards along the way, with the best hand getting a prize – often these event are organized to raise money for some charity or other worth cause, but other times it is just for fun. This time it was snowmobiles in Vernon County for the Chaseburg Trail Days Poker Run. In the 20 below weather players followed the trail to raise money for them, as funds gathered will be put towards area trails in need of repair and grooming"

It sounds like a lot of fun.:good:

I hope we get a couple good snow dumps before the event so there is a good turnout. Hopefully this event really catches on. I enjoy seeing the Alaska SnowFest on TV and it looks like a real wild time with may fun activites. Hoping this event will be the similar. It would be cool if New Hampshire introduced a rippen New England snow fest with lots of BRAAAAP. Do you know if there is parking for campers?

Phil, I know some of the teams will be camping,,,,,I am really glad you asked, I had not thought of guests camping,,,, I can attest to we have no water, sewer or electric hook ups,,, we have room if one is totally self contained,,,, BUT need to talk with BOD and Landowners to see if this is OK

I have two motels ON the trail ( Corner Depot and Main St, side by side) , 2 Gas stations,. DUNKIN Donuts, a pizza /sub shop, Alan's Restaurant and Lounge ALL Accessible by sled within a 5 minute ride by sled from the Venue

15 min away by car in Concord I have Three Hotels offering special pricing for the Sled Fest,,, 30 of the East Coast Staff will be staying in the Comfort Inn in Concord (Hall St just off the Highway) Exit 14 I believe the rates at the Comfort will be $79.00 includes Cont breakfast

Thumper may want to offer my driveway,,,,, I may be saving it for the best "bribe" it's about 35-40 minutes by sled from my house,,,, 6 min by car

WMUR is in the loop,,,, and is reaching out to us,,, the poster has a couple minor errors but will get the changes and be at press shortly (the poster that is up is the one going as a full page in the Snow Gower) ,, radio will get hit to the best of our budget during the week leading into the event,,,, I know of a local weekend event that budgets $90,000 for advertising,,,,,,,,,,, this baby is the Town Line Trail Dusters effort,,,,,,,,,,,

Banks Chevrolet, Freedom Cycle, HK and MB Tractor are sponsoring this event to make it possible for the club to make the balance of the plunge

Huckleberry Fuels is donating a LOT of Diesel Fuel
Weaver Brothers , , a D-6 bulldozer orange cones and barrels and lights,,,
Hopkinton Landclearing will power the snowmaking with a gen set
Coldbrook Gravel is donating a 966 CAT Loader

I know i am forgetting several

I just spend the last 15 min trying to do a nice google map,,, I wasn't smart enough to save it correctly,,,,,,, BUT if you Google RIVER ROAD BOSCAWEN NH it will show you perfectly We will be setting up in the most southerly "loop" of field along the Merrimack River

Written Directions
Exit 17 off I-93 follow ramp towards Penacook/Boscawen

Go 3/4/ way around rotary that is 1 mile down exit Rotary

Take second LEFT onto Commercial St

Follow to River Road Event less than 3 min from the highway total

The Location is near NOTHING yet 3 min from the Highway. 10 min to Concord, middle of the State, on the River, close to food and lodging, by car and sled, We are Very Lucky to have the use of this location!

Not only for sleds. It is used for all types of motorized vehicles.
I have done them as far back as 1975 when vans where a craze.
Van clubs held them all over the Country.
I have also done them on street bikes and yes even still today they
have them for the street legal dirt bike crowd. they call them Turkey Runs
I think it is because they run mostly in the woods but use streets to connect
the trails. The biggest one in this area is held during bike week in June.
it is a 2 day Event out of the race track in Loudon,NH
