Hi all,
I stumbled upon a neat forum for GoPro users.
Has great info and tips for camera mounts and such.
http://goprouser.freeforums.org/
I came up with one today just reading a post there.
Just remove the magnet and install a GoPro tri-pod mount to it and then you have a neat extender pole mount.

Here are some of the stuff I use with my GoPro
I will round up all the RAM mounts next
For those that are worried about loosing their GoPro by falling off a mount.
Here is what I did to make a safety wire to clip it to something.
All it is ... is a Heavy Duty (30 pound test) Wire fishing lead.
I then use a coated picture hanging wire with an electrical wire termial
with the loop cut off. I am going to put heat shrink tubing over it.
This allows you to clip or zip tie it to something solid.
I have a bunch of other back doors that came with the Back Pac & LCD mount.
Click on pictures for larger view.

Just got a GoPro this year as well. Tried it up in Pittsburg this weekend and it worked great. Shot a few hours of video. Super clear images and it was really easy to use.
I forgot I had it on a few times and was wondering why people were looking at me strange when I was in Youngs.
Could of been that I am just a strange looking dude

Hey Rob...do you always hook-up the lanyard in case the camera comes loose. Just wondering since you brought it up for discussion.
Thanx...Bruce

i never have because i never thought about it.
after seeing some youtube videos about people loosing theirs and reading some
posts at that user forum about DIY mounts I thought of this easy setup.
remember my video where i had my gopro hanging off my front bumper
looking back at the track last season ?
just imaging if it fell off ....
no more worries from now on ;-)
so to answer your question again .....
YES ... i will always ( even as a helmet cam ) use a lanyard.
