All wind or all solar would leave EVERYONE very unhappy.
In the end, balance is usually the best way to go. As far as wind goes, if they are located in a wind zone (NH has a several of them) they do create a lot of power. I think the key is to get the majority of those effected by it to be in agreement with/about it, not some corporate land grab empowered by a "feel good" mentality.
As far as someone that lives in Nashua or Keene or Lowell or wherever complaining about a wind farm in lempster, or wherever - so what. If you don't like them, try to live near them.

Who produces windmills in the US?
largest producer is GE, they get Dump truck loads of $$ from US and pay almost NO taxes! its a "Shell" game
Windmills are a joke, and solar is no better
Its like hybrid cars,
there is no real cost savings,
just a scam on people who do not research the numbers

Hmmm.. you caught my attention about the Solar & windmill's ... I am assuming your speaking of to make enough electricity to like power a town or city correct?
As just an individual Home ( off the Grid ).. It does work. The unfortunate thing is we all can't have a Windmill, but Solar does work. Only thing is it does require some daily/twice a day checking of the Batteries. Of course on that note: you do need some sort of Back-up system like propane/or natural gas.
I did read the info you directed folk's too at the bottom about windconsumption. In all fairness they are correct or The people that investigated into how much power ( from its own source is needed ) to keep it Operational for less Mechanical failures down the road.
I guess my point here is..If one doesn't try or experiment on alternative energy's...How can the world as a whole Learn on how to save energy ? WE ALL see wasteful energy ( electric ) everyday of our live's...
Ummm.. by being on here...this is more communication, just a way of being on a "party-line" for the whole world to see if they have a mind too.

Intersesting about the Hydrogen cell'd vehicle's. It's going to be the price "Tag" and how convienent that type of fuel will be available.. I mean 65 mpg's avg. is awesome ..along with little or no emmision ( some/had the gas switch button )
I meant..jokingly we were wasting electricity here on the PC checking out one of our favorite pass-time websites..LOL

Pristine Forest I think, should be unharvested tracts of land of which are non existent in New England..More resembling this.
Taken from the wilderness act of 1964
The Wilderness Act continues to be the guiding piece of legislation for all wilderness areas. The Act describes wilderness as follows:
"...lands designated for preservation and protection in their natural condition..." Section 2(a)
"...an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man..." Section 2©
"...an area of undeveloped Federal land retaining its primeval character and influence, without permanent improvement or human habitation..." Section 2©
"...generally appears to have been affected primarily by the forces of nature, with the imprint of man's work substantially unnoticeable..." Section 2©
"...has outstanding opportunities for solitude or a primitive and unconfined type of recreation..." Section 2©
