Sunday was a nice warm day that dried out our garage to allow us to stain the exterior . . .

Arrived before the Canoe King opened and left after the Canoe King closed. All in all 20+ gallons of gray stain were applied on the building to protect the building for years to come.

Got to meet Mark our volunteer sawyer who sawed all the logs into framing materials & 1" thick boards for the siding. Mark did an exceptional job sawing the boards , with super tight tollerences. They looked like they had a first planing, they were smooth and even. Great job Mark!

Will be back at the end of the week to brush out the backside of the garage, remove some of the shipping boxes left from the former Polaris dealer and clean up around the building.

Yes, that is a long garage! . It’s either 50 or 60 feet long.

It’s a good thing the building has doors at both ends. . . it would have taken another 5 gallons to stain that side.

Thanks for pitching in Carl. It is really appreciated!
Spend a day on a work crew with your snowmobile club. You'll meet some real wackos (an experience not to be missed) and you'll sure to do it again just out of a sick sense of curiousity!
High performance motor sports and booze don't mix. Nascar drivers drink Coke NOT RUM AND COKE. Over every hill and around every corner is a Mom and Dad, Grand parents and little kids trying to learn the sport. Ride accordingly. RIDE RIGHT! Pay Attention out there!

The OVSC work party will be at it again to finish up the inside of the groomer garage. Unfortunately, the building takes in some water through the cracks between the boards. . . We will be oil staining the inside to protect against water and bug damage to out native wood building.

A special thanks to Doug St. Jean who donated enough stain oil to finish up the inside of the building. Doug is not a member here, but a member of MSA & one of there local clubs.

Doug & his dad own the TRANSMISSION SHOP in Coventry, RI. They run one of the largest transmission rebuilding facilities about 20 minutes from S.E Massachusetts. Great folks and Excellent Quality service at very competative prices.

OVSC again thanks Doug & Scott for there donation to help waterproof the building. One more snomobiler helping the community out.

See you during the work party !

Those are pretty nice looking 2" thick insulated commercial doors...

But, we don't have any hardware to hang them up from what I recall.
