Taking the advice from Oldviperrider( Thanks ) ...I headed up to pittsburg for my final ride of the year.
I parked at Magalloway road and rode in only 12.6 miles before seeing a Mother Moose and her calf, and then several miles later I say another young moose running down the center of the trail.
It was below freezing at 10 AM and the trails were smooth and well groomed. I got tossed a little from my skis getting stuck in the frozen tracks but i'm not complaining. I put about 75 miles on before Afternoon and went to Whites general store for fuel and a sandwich. ( there are very nice at the store )
The worst trail conditions were close to the Store...lots of melting and bare spots and heavy traffic.
It was a little loose once temps were over freezing but trails 5 and 112 have A LOT of base and were smooth as could be. The trails are well marked with maps every several miles.
The ride up to the scenic view was amazing!
And on the way home I saw four deer.
So- Amazing day, awesome wildlife and the perfect ending to my snowmobile season.
Many thanks for the tip Oldviperrider!
