How do you get to the Magalloway Bowl? I was told take the fire tower trail off of 112 and take the left thats almost at the end. The only two lefts we saw were dead end trails........ Do you have to start up the fire tower trails? Is it the wrong trail? I would really like to ride it on Thursday!

turn off Magalloway Road / trail and take your first right ( ungroomed trail ) and go almost to the end. There's two left hand turns that go up towards the bowl - you want the second one. The buzz
around town is that they do not want people riding the Bowl. In a day and age where we depend on the landowner for trail access, all it's going to take is one accident ( or death ) up there and they will
shut it down, which ruins it for everyone. I've been there, I've played around and have seen people ride up and come down HARD into the trees. It's a beautiful place, but it is a accident waiting to happen ( IMO )
Two weeks ago we heard there were 5 Wardens parked there to inform people of this.
Just speaking for myself, let's not ruin a good thing.

I just want to go there and check it out. Nothing reckless. I'd say the fire tower is more of a dangerous trail then the bowl. The fire tower trail is steep and gets icey. All it takes is for it to be icey and someone going down cant stop. They could easily go head on w/ a sled or a tree... When you say its your first right, is that coming from the west or east?

this is was i was told on another forum: It's off trail 143 on the left before you hit 112. If you look at the Bowl and ride around following tracks you will find it. We hit a couple of dead ends before we found it, but was easy to find. First time there....we missed a few guys riding it by about a half hour.

I also looked for it last weekend with the directions I had and also found the 2 dead ends and have to agree that it looks like access is from either 143 or 112. We ran into a guy who had just left there but I didn't ask for directions because I thought I had the correct ones. Not sure what the trail # is but heading AWAY from 1st Connecticut lake on 112 go by the fire tower road and go a mile or so there's a junction you can go right unsure of the trail # because I don't have my map but the bowl trail should be on the right from that trail? That's how it looks, we climbed magalloway Mtn on Friday and I hiked over to the edge and looked down onto the bowl but that's as close as I got.

The trail to the top of the mountain was simple, barely had to hit the throttle on the way up and we were on short tracks! Once on top you gotta duck down to get through the tree branches because the snow is so deep....lot's of snow up there! The only problem spot on the way up you'll see is a sharp left turn where someone got stuck, just keep left and hug the tree because someone got stuck to the right of the corner and there's a pretty big hole, It's flat there so you can stop if you have to. Coming down just go slow because there's 2 steep places where your brakes don't slow you down....but it's definitely worth going up and if you want to look down onto the bowl just walk around the main cabin and follow my tracks through the woods to the overlook but be careful the snow is 5+ feet deep in places and you gotta fight through the branches but the view is worth it! Enjoy!

how many times are you going to ask this? go explore and fid it for yourself. people don't give away directions to places. it took me 5 years to find it, not that i was really ever looking but we found it. so stop wasting your time on here asking and get on your sled and ride.
