A huge "THANK YOU" to everyone who makes it happen in The Great North Woods.
The NHSA, Pittsburg Ridge Runners, Swift Diamond Riders, Umbagog Snomobile Assoc. Colebrook Ski- Bee's ...and more :clapping:
The Hard working club officials, volunteers, and especially the groomer's :good:
You truly do the most amazing job in maintaining the BEST trail system in the country!!
I am very proud every time I volunteer to help a club, the dedication from a few people has a very big impression on me ...

Last Saturday at th PRR steak feed, a founding club member and his wife were given a plaque for 44 years of volunteering for the Ridge Runners ... I had tears in my eyes... and still do typing this.
So few people have given tirelessly for so long, please volunteer in your local club, you can make a huge difference. :drinks:

They are Bernard and Cathrine Covil. Bernard showed me many of the back country places in Pittsburg almost 20 years ago. I will see if I can get a picture and some history to go with it.

Don't forget the southern clubs!

This has been an awesome year for riding south or the notch! I put on about 1000 miles just in the south and all right from the house.

There are many names throught the state that can be associated with decades of dedication and support to the trail system in N.H. In the late 1960's my father worked tirelessly at his job for 50+ hrs a week with 4 kids as he fixed and sold new Rupps out of our walk out basement at night and on weekends. He was also one of the founding members of the Saddleback Sled Slammers in Deerfield until the club disbanded in the snowmobile drought of the late 1970's. There are many in this sport that come and go, but it is truly a special few that stay committed to the things they love, and we are lucky to have a few of those people on these boards and in our clubs. These are the times to enjoy sledding with your children while we still have trails to ride. They may be the next generation to recieve such an honor as Bernard and Cathrine Covil. Hats off and thank you. Sincerely
