Heavy wet snow blew into heavy wet drifts that have since become a little bit more solid. No bad but you really need the HP to plow through the stuff. And a LOT better than the frozen concrete crud that we had for the past week!

Groomed trails are quite good.

OK,thanks. I guess it's still not good for high-speed lake cruising. We're getting a couple of inches of fresh snow down here tonight, maybe the lake region might get it also. Hopefully it will help for lake riding.

Winni Update Tuesday, March 1 9AM:

Getting there. I'm on waterfront in Gilford near Belknap Point/Marine Patrol. Didn't take the sled out yet but by walking around it seems like the rain only put a crust onto the new and old powder. Could have been a lot worse!

Last week's concrete on the lake really sucked, little powder for cooling, hyfax, etc. Weekend snow was a bit heavy for an easy high-speed cruise. Haven't tested it for lake slush yet.

But so far, this does not seem all that bad. Maybe even good!

Where is the best parking for the rig in that area? I tried parking at Ellacoya before, but it wasn't really that good. Is the lot at the Marine Patrol open in Gilford?? I would like to try heading up there tomorrow or Thurs.

Marine Patrol: I think that you may need to Town of Gilford taxpayer sticker to park there... at least in some of the parking lot. Not sure.

There is an open parking area just before the Town of Gilford skating rink but not at the rink. It is right scross the street from the Fay's Boatyard ship-like building. Very close to the Patrick's Pub area trails as well. It can hold several trucks and trailers in that area. It may even have a sign mentioning trailer parking and not prohibiting it.

BTW... today's sun is now making the snow heavy and wet. Damn...

Winni update March 3 9:21AM

Snow coverage on the Lake is 100%+ in Gilford's Belknap Point area. Cold WX shoud keep things just fine. Have yet to go on the trails but I can only assume good... a guess. Weekend is supposed to be warmer. Sad...

OK Zackman, I'm gonna shoot for Winni tomorrow. It's 'gonna be about 30, I think I'll give it a try. It's a 90 min. ride for me. If you see that it gets crappy tomorrow, and does not look too good for riding, would you post it here please?? I'll check before I leave. I won't be leaving here until 10 or so.

Txs, Laker
