It is a cold, crisp winter morning here at the First Connecticut Lake. The current temperature at 6 AM is –1.1°F with a very light breeze.

We received about 8" of heavy snow yesterday and the groomers have taken full advantage of it. It took some of the groomers until 4:30 AM this morning to get back to base. Fresh snow takes longer to groom to do it right. With the very cold temperatures the trails should be mint today. Here at the First Connecticut Lake we have received 150.3 inches of snow so far this season.
The Pittsburg Ridge Runners' Annual Steak Feed is this evening starting at 5 PM. I hope to see many of you there watching me win the club's raffle sled.
