OT - Got my first ride on your welch top trail this afternoon, very nice.. Renegade74 was saying the view has been obstructed since he was up there a few years back, still a great spot.

Really liked the flatlands portion, wide, flat, good visibility on the corners, twisties... Nice bit of work there by the OVSC crew.

This must have been the trail you took the "steep and deep" crowd up a few years back, the pics they posted seemed to come to life a cpe times today.

The OVSC thanks you!

The steeper sections would be wider but they need to be "packed" by sleds before they can be groomed wider.
The section through the state forest sure is nice, eh? It takes 4 passes with a 4' wide drag to keep it like that.
The view is growing in, the ride back down is the best view now. Permission has been granted to open it up again, and hopefully it will be done for next season.
The Mt. part is the same area the off trail crowd hits. One more good dump of snow, and it'll be prime.
Permission has been secured on an adjacent 200 acres that is steep as heck, and has just been chipped more or less clear...wide open and I'm telling ya, seriously steep..

I rode the edges a "little bit" on the way up but i didn't want to have a snorander moment, we need more snow.

How far away is the SLSC interconnect? The closest i've come to their trails is the greenery a few seasons back i'm not a big fan of C-19.

The sides of the trail are relitively free of danger, what there is to be scared of is more or less obvious. The club spent a fair amount of money having a JD 450 Dozer make that section as nice as possible with safety in mind. So if it looks OK it is. Just a few objects which are easy to see.

SLSC trails are another 4-5 miles of to-be-built trails away. You won't believe how sweet it's going to be...most is already existing logging road..more or less like the state forest behind SAPPI.
