The current temperature, 8:15 AM, is -2.6 degrees F under mostly sunny skies with light winds. The forecast low temperatures for tonight is -23 degrees F, Sunday night -31 degrees F and Monday night -29 degrees F. The highs for the same period are +5, -2 & -1 degrees F respectively. Here at the First Connecticut Lake we received 3" of new snow yesterday and there is a possibility of snow flurries Sunday.

If you are in an area where the temperature will be -20 & -30 try this. Fill a glass from your hot water faucet, let the water run until it is as hot as it gets. Go outside and toss the water up in the air as hard as you can and you will get instant snow. Really, it works!

Long range forecast is calling for a snow storm Wednesday-Thursday.Posted Image

Question: What is the origin of the the saying "Cold enough to freeze the b--ls off a brass monkey" ?

No fair going to Google or Wikipedia.
