If the main lake or broad bay areas are unsafe to cross is there anyway to pick up the sos trail system from the southeast side of broadbay channel without trailering?

No, not unless you use the roads.

Keep your sled at Dan's till the lake freezes up.

I wouldn't even think about ice, Tims had a novel idea though. My sleds are down home, most likely headed up late this week, i'll give ya a ring once i get it figured out

There's at least 5" of ice on the pond @ SAPPI chipping. If there's 4" or more on the bay...I'd go across the very middle of the bay, WFO, and pass the island on the right, about 300' off the shore of it. The "brook" that never seems to freeze in front of the marina is the only thing I'd worry about.

Not saying you should. Saying I would on the F7.

I drilled a few holes on Broad Bay over the New Years weekend. There was a good 5-7" of ice, some places more when you include the white ice and some areas less. I didnt cross the Bay because the conditions on the trails werent worth it because of lack of snow. However I did beat around the Bay a bit crossing some coves and shallow areas and all is looking good so far. I heard there is an official new trail before the brook so you dont have to deal with the changing brook conditions. Turn left Between the houses around and over the brook and right back into O L Marina parking.. :good:

Sounds good! I am hoping with this cold week, and more snow on the way :clapping: We can hit the trails this weekend. Thanks for the update. :D
