I have been there, it's on the rapid river trail, that leds to Lower Richardson lake
The lst time I went thru there was about 264 deer standing at the feeder, blocking the trail!

We were on the Carry Road last winter and did not see a single deer. The wind on Umbagog was unbelievable that day. We found a spot on the trail to take a break out of the wind.

The "lakes" ride is one of my favorite, it is fun to find your way across those lakes.
One year I decided to do it from rangley to errol.
LOL< I rode around Mooselookmeguntic for about an hour trying to find the path to U richardson.
Just as I was about to say "F" it, I spotted the "way".
THe rest was easy :pardon:

I always found it easier to ride from Rangley down, we tried to go up the lakes once and got lost.

Isn't that the route you took me on when I had my SRX a while back? I seem to remember that trail along the Rapid River and wondered how bad it would be to kayak it! That was a great loop, I remember having lunch in Oqussuc and gettinghome late afternoon!

There are a lot of paddlers that go in to Smooth Ledge on the Rapid with their playboats. I think they go in through Andover ME. to play at Smooth Ledge while others go in by the Dam to run the river

A couple years back I rode out of Pittsburg down to Errol, we went out onto Umbagog, and looked at the map and started heading north. There were lots of tracks across the lakes, had my GPS, and started toward Rangely. Was a pretty cool ride across those lakes, was very glad for all the sled tracks to guide us and the GPS for a few key decisions. Ended up along that river, and saw some old buildings but no hot tub. They only part we didn't exactly enjoy was getting stuck on a single track trail behind about 40 sleds site seeing on what must have been a local club ride. They kept stopping in the middle of the trail site seeing, oblivious to us behind them wanting to get by. Had to practice a very large amount of patience that day, but once we finally got by them was a real easy and quick ride north to Rangely. Ate a pretty late lunch, rested up a bit and headed back to Pittsburg. Was definatly a day to remember. :good:
