So, started the sled today and noticed my clutch wasn't shiny and clean down the V, where it grabs the belt.

What should I clean it with?

Light scrubbing with a fine scotchbrite pad should get it clean, make sure there are no grooves in it :drinks:

That color means it got hot. Replace the belt.

Ok, I can now see how a scotchbrite pad will clean it. :good:

I took my belt off and now going to replace it.

The stock belt is a Polaris 3211080.

BUT, looking at what to replace it with.....

<below info is stolen from someone else>

3211080 - width 1.438", side angle degrees 28, centre to centre 11.50",
outer circumference 46.625" CVT belt, good trail belt, close tolerences. Aprox price $89.99

3211115 - width 1.46", side angle degrees 26, centre to centre 11.50",
outer circumference 46.77" PBO belt, extreme duty, longest service life,
CNC ground on each belt, logest break in period aprox price $189.99

3211122- width 1.46", side angle degrees 26, centre to centre 11.50",
outer circumference 46.77" Kevlar, increased service life over CVT belts,
cut edges belt, consistent like PBO belt, shorter break in period aprox price $129.99

3211080 - is a good belt. Have many miles on my '02 XCSP700 with it(as in several thousand per belt) I wouldn't want to change the side angle either.

Did you tow something with this sled?

I agree with you Paul on the belt angle, as to why I will probably stay 'stock'.

And a very "YES" to towing something. Kids on a toboggan, up hill.

That explains the black. Otherwise, I would have thought someone put to stiff of a secondary spring to it.
