Hi Nigel, I know what you mean, It happens to me all the time when I am in the boat out on the lake, I'll be looking around and dreaming of riding my sled!

I'm going to take the skid out because my rear suspension isn't rebounding all the way by itself any more. It stops 2 or 3 inches short, but if I grab the the rear bar & give it a little tug it pops up the rest of the way. So I am going to replace the rear springs,inspect, clean, & grease all the rear bushings and make sure nothing else is binding up.


I'll keep you posted, no idea when I am going to have time to do it, but I'd like to get into it before it gets cold

We had August weather in July, now August is starting out with Septemberish weather.

I started mine up today,went to pull it from storage to the shop to tinker on but couldn't resist ripping up the lawn to where the wife was filling bird feeders,scared the living bejeesus out of her when I came flying around the corner.

I was so phsyched just from one lawn rip I almost came.

I don't think I even waxed it last fall....and we all know how last winter was I only put 85 Miles on it LOL.....In my very best Rainman accent "I'm a very good driver" LOL!
What you don't get that kind of belt life out of a Polairs?

I think I'll get the sled ready either next weekend or the one after. I started it up today, dam I love the smell of 2 stroke first thing in the morning!!!!

I usually start messing with the sleds in early October, since I do most maintenance on it before I put them away for the summer. Gotta get the wife's Mach Z ready for sale, though.

My front arm is broken much worse than that! I also need to get going, but know that I will end up waiting until November.........

You should certainly notice a improvement fixing that. I think my sled is all set for this season, I have not put on enough miles to screw it up the past 2 seasons , only about 800 miles.

I know you will put it all back together properly, but why change over the Red Idler wheel?
Is that your sled design signature ?

Well my sled came from the factory with red Idler wheels and I kind of like the look of them , but if they don't fit, I'll live with the silver ones

Are you going to change your rail sliders? I would think, now is a good time to change them over.

I'm not going to, I looked them over good last night and these only have 500 mi on them and look great & have plenty of life left in them. I may change over the ones from my old suspension as they only have @200 miles on them. It was really easy to changes the sliders without removing the suspension last time I did, so I'm not going to worry about it

I am going to start farting around with a couple of sleds today.....
New pull start on the 800, track and wheel inspections, and pm the trailer
Get the snowmobile juices flowing .....
October is pretty busy with grass drags all month, before you know it, it will be snowing
