Dave Copeland read a statement and apologized to the BOD to which they excepted and voted Dave in as a member of the NHSA and Rockingham County Director. :yahoo: It was agreed on by all present to put the past behind us and move on for the good of snowmobiling the sport we all love. I would like to thank Rivercat for speaking on behalf of Dave and Rockingham County. I would also like to thank CKF for allowing us to voice our opinion on here. My only regret was I did not have a camera to get a picture of me giving Skip a hug at break time. Skip you earned respect from me for seeing humor in the kool aid man picture! So now its back to trail work that I love so much.

Glad to hear this is all behind us :good: The special forum has been deleted and the threads moved back to the general forum.

Congratulations to Dave and the Board at NHSA! Tonight proved what can and does happen when people work together. I feel bad I missed the HUG, Hey Don you may have missed Terry's comment about the flavor of KOOLAID he called it (Skip) CHRISTEN-BERRY punch! Many thanks to everyone who played a roll in the closure in this matter.

I'm kind of glad a camera wasn't present....don't really know if I wanted that picture floating around out there! :)

On a more serious note, I am glad this issue is behind us. Both sides were clearly heard, both sides were able to get their respective points across and in the end careful thought was given to the situation and I believe the right outcome was arrived at.

In addition I thought that once again Terry Callum provided excellent leadership and kept the debate fair and focused.

It was nice seeing some different faces last night and again meeting several of you that I only previously knew from the web!

And I truly believe that those in attendance last night will do all that they can to put some of this internet foolishness behind us.

On a sadder note, the Board of Directors chose not to, as requested by a NHSA member, remove me from the board, instead giving me a unanimous vote of support. Now you guys are stuck with me for at least a year more....

Welcome aboard Mr. Copeland...there is a lot of work ahead of us and I truly believe that while we at times all have our differences on the board, your experience and history of "rolling up your sleeves" will make the board a even better... :good:

I am also glad things worked out in a positive manner, I placed a call to my county director on monday and voiced my concerns in support of Mr Copland. In a voulnteer orgnazation it seemed foolish to me kick some who wants to help. Good job guys!

."A Handshake can be construed to mean "we're ok"( in this case for the good of snowmobiling ) or even that an informal understanding has been reached, (possible reinstatement) as in the proverbial handshake deal. And on a still deeper level, it can mean "everything's OK between us," particularly after some conflict has been resolved.

Forgot to add:

Props to Dave C. for standing up and giving an apology. Whether or not it was necessary I am in no way qualified to say....but I know it takes a big man who is sure of himself to do such a thing.

BUT,BUT it's not even August yet........Now what are we going to have to complain about if the NHSA refuses to be shady?????
Oh wait....I just got my groomer registration forms.....Seems the state wants to charge the clubs more money to register the grooming equipment that is paid for and funded by registrations....... :stirthepot:

I was glad to see all the parties involved extending the olive branches and letting the past go. I was also glad to hear that other county directors recieved calls from members expressing their opinion on the situation. Kind of goes to show how much we can accomplish when we work together. It was also nice to be able to put a face to some screen names (Denny, Rivercat). Now we can fire up the tractor and sharpen the chain saw, we've got Trails to build!!! :yahoo:
