I am sure that we all lament the passing of the Burger King on Paugus Bay. Lets see if we can replace it with a southern location of this establishment.

So how much of a ride is it from the Lakes Region?
We've never gotten anywhere near that far in Canada but the riding up there is almost always great. I assume even better the farther north you go.
How was the riding there? Enough to do a big 3 or 4 days from that lodge without too much repetition?
And yes, that would be a great replacement for BK and probably have to take Fitzgeralds down too. Maybe the new yacht club (that's the last rumor I heard, but I am not in the loop) will double as a snowmobile destination in the winter!

Once you cross the Canadian border by car, then reach Shawinigan, Quebec, travel by snowmobile 200+ miles via trail 3 east then trail 83 north, then a ten mile private access trail to the lodge and you're there.

Snowfall was 12ft so far with 6-8 feet remaining at the lodge after the warm spell.

This was my first saddlebag snowmobile trip through Quebec. The trail and signage quality are every bit good as everyone says. Some say best in the world... I have not traveled all over so I cannot say but these are truely in a league of their own.

I have attached a map of where we went. Not much repetition... one national park, many flat farmlands, travel above and below some dams, one city the size of Laconia, several small towns, several Franconia Notch-type scenes. Even one adult Moose charging at us after Bullwinkle was startled, triped, fell down, then came galloping directly towards us right in the middle of the trail. He may have been scared, pissed or both! We gunned it and LEFT. <g>








80% of the time, the trails were this wide, this well groomed.
More like an interstate highway system as far as consistency.
