Ice fishermen report generally 6-8" between Varney Point and Lakeshore Park but some open areas remain at pressure ridges between Belknap Point and Alton Bay so be careful. Ice quality is very high, very clear. Bob houses have arrived in numbers. One can look through ther ice and see the bottom 20-feet below! That being said, CHECK FOR YOURSELF before attempting the ice. All areas can be different. Scuba diver pictures taken Sunday 1-17-2010 at Varney Point in front of the Marine Patrol HQ.
