No pics
Sled bogged a few times, need a new belt it seems this one is catching at idle and while trying to start it, growing tired of fussing with sleds :banghead: .
Having only done a mere 200 or so miles last year, I think I had almost forgotten. :acute:
Had to keep reminding myself that there's not a whole lot of snow and warnings of water bars, early season conditions abound.

With that said, I can't say that I'm surprised in the conditions out in and around trout pond and the airstrip area, great job Scrub Oaks, nice 1st outing and shake down. :good:

I can't believe the difference between now and when i was out in the groomer just before Christmas and we haven't gotten a ton of snow since then, WOW.

I had to go to the sledwash last Monday, I came in from the north end which wasn't bad, rode around on all the trails you had groomed for me that morning and exited from the south end cause I was running out of time. I found the mud. Let it snow :drinks:

Ya, I thought they were great considering the amount/quality of snow, can't believe how many H20 bars you were able to fill in. :good:

I had one :shok: moment which helped remind me of everyones warning about early season conditions, had a great rip.

Brought both sleds home last weekend anticipating workin on them once back from CA. By the way, the turbulents just east of the rockies was a HORROR show, one of them deals where you put your seat back to it's full upright position, crank down on your seat belt and get a good hold of each armrest. Dam I hate that crap, call me scared but man oh man, it's just not natural to be banged around, twisted, tossed side to side and contoured about at 25K feet, was watching the front of the plane just girate all over the place, up down, side to side, twisting..... :bad:

Artic crap - Drained fuel, re-filled with fresh, changed plugs, swapped belt (for an old one). Belt squeeks a tad after about 15 laps around the yard, not sure the neighbors got as much of a kick out of it as I did... :yahoo: I know it's an old belt and I'm told they sqeek when they get that way. Was also told my clutch might need some shims? I might as well be rebuilding shocks  Will obviously get a new belt too.

Ski-Doo - Disconnected the tether switch gizmo, started up after about 4 pulls. Reconnected it, started right up. Flipped key a couple times, started right up, disconnected key, started right up, reconnected key, started right up, left the tether disconnected... Leaving it outside over night, will try starting it before I go to bed, then in the AM. If she starts right up again, I guess I'll drag her back up North and see what happens.

The secondary clutch on the Cat needs to have a shim or two installed. How high is the belt in relation to the clutch sheaves? Only the fabric line should be above edge of clutch sheave.

Ski Doo Started up in 3 pulls this AM, so I'm pretty sure she's all fixed.

Cat started normal, 3 pulls but I still feel abnormal resistance when pulling it... Maybe the tolerances between a factory bearing and aftermarket are just a tad different, such that the clutch is just a tad off now, requiring this shim thing.

I know I've posted multiple messages asking for help/idea's on my sleds and I appreciate all the help from my fellow slednh'rs. :drinks:

The belt is too tight. When you pull the engine over it is literally trying to move sled at same time. The tolerances in manufacturing process allows belts with same part number to be different lengths. I run into this when I get new belts for my cat too. By installing shims this allows belt to ride lower in secondary therefor loosens the belt. Livingstons sells an adjuster that uses an allen wrench. You loosen the set screw and turn adjuster. No more shims. Saves a lot of time and is a trailside capable adjustment. You go opposite way when your belt is worn. It allows you to tighten it up as well. Give me a call if you need one. A friend is going to Livingstons early week. I can drop it by your house or we can meet up.
