There are two or three chances for snow in the two weeks before your trip, but as of now any riding will have to be in the higher elevations = above 2000'. I have been told that the SDR trails up high have over a foot of hard pack. The problem is getting to the snow. I am not sure that Rangeley is any better off. I plan on riding on Dec. 15 as I have for the past ten years. Think SNOW

I did my first ride from the LC on Weds. There is very thin cover in the lower elevations of Colebrook. I headed south on five toward Nash Stream and found a very hard frozen base up the hill past Kidderville and on to the juct. with 7. From there up over the hill to Bungy Rd. it was very thin. but passable. Bungy Rd is plowed for logging, but there was snow on the sides. From Bungy Rd to Cranberry Jct. there was frozen cover with an inch of powder for lubrication. Back on 5 through the bog to the stream rd was reall very good except for one or two water bars that still need to be filled in. 5 through Nash Stream was great, as were all the trails I rode in the GTB system. Stratfords trails were also very good with first tracks for many miles. I did not go north of the LC, we will do that on Monday. Please everyone ----SNOW DANCE!!
