Seeing we have "reconnected" his home town to mine (Hero's Crossing) I thought it fitting to offer him and his wife an invite for some mid-state riding, He lives only 15 min from my farm,,, he appreciated the offer and said "he just may do that",, I would be great, to have one more person on "our side"

Don't care what you say about politics, John Lynch is a "people's person". We took our Scout pack there for a trip, he was absolutely amazing.

SLOW? ,,, I did mention a few concerns.. ie the huge value of open space and maintaining existing trails, in an effort to PROTECT the continuity of our existing 7000 mile network.. he wholeheartedly agreed. it was at that comment i offered a day trip so he could attain a feel of the true value of our "network"

Can't argue on having the right people in our corner. This could be another "West Meets East" talk. Let us "Bridge" the community in an everlasting network. :D

Wasn't anything show about it. He put off talking to some bigwig from Mass to stay with the scouts. He also arranged for us to go into the Statehouse Dome. How many of YOU have ever been up there??

My sister is a 5 th grade teacher and they take the kids to the capitol almost every year. Everytime she goes he comes out and meets the kids and then lets them sit in the governers chair. Sometimes even has lunch with them. It might be just for show but she says the last Govener never even came out of his office.
By the way Rivercat maybe next year you can get him out to help out with trail clearing.

Hell, I'll vote for him. He sounds like such a nice guy...

There are many more important reasons why you should vote for someone. IF that's important that he makes time for your kids then so be it. I would like him to do more important things but that's just me.

One part of the conversation that our Governor left me most impressed was that I was sharing concerns about how fragile our network can be, and how the loss of one small parcel,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and he chimed right in and commented how it must take many "links" to create a trail system, and with the loss of the smallest link renders that trail useless, he without question understands what it has taken to create our 7000 mile network. I had the chance to briefly mention what "was" a good connector leaving Contoocook (his home town) and connected to Clough State park is currently closed for the season.

On an even more positive not I bumped into the Bureau Chief yesterday while dropping papers at BOT. I left the office with a MUCH RENEWED "energy" that Chris does not take ANY closure lightly and that he is working very hard in our behalf. Furthermore I have come to the understanding that BOT has to follow "due process" on a day to day basis. For 30 years I have called shots MYSELF in my business the collabrative effort is still something that is very foreign to me. At State level this is not likely a easy task at times. I will add it is not because of anything Chris said about State departments. It is about what I have seen over the last few years. I'm real glad we had the conversation because I have been feeling frustrated.

I left the office with a new "project" to begin, it not going to be a small task, but the Chief and I agreed that I could "run it up the pole", He offered a bit of info he had gathered as we have spoken of it in the past, now it's a case of getting thru to the right people. Only time will tell.

Murray's Greenhouse still sells the best Christmas trees in the area. Thanks Dave.

I see the groomer was out last night packing down the trail to the bridge.

Hey Thanks for the plug ... and to think the Governor got the next to the last tree this year! ,,, and it was an awsum tree,, it has been a great year in spite of the economy,,, Great means we are going to do it , another year! It is not boom time,
I am grateful for the ability to live and work on the farm my great grandfather purchased 104 years ago, to live in the home my dad was born in 95 years ago, and to watch my grandchildren run thru the house representing the SIXTH generation of our family. To each of you try to never forget the value of all "local businesses"

You can't just walk up there anymore? The only time we found it closed was during renovations.

We (as kids) used to go up there all the time. The big draw was the 2nd floor bathrooms with the playboy & penthouse magazines on the back of the toilets. :)

How many of you have walked through the bomb shelter / tunnel that goes under the street to the other building?

I got the royal tour back in the 60's and met Gov. King. Also coached BB against Lynch in town.
Enjoy it while you can, now.
