Subject: The Future of your snowmobile club—emergency meeting

The future of the club and snowmobile trails maintained by PMTR are at jeopardy. We need your participation to keep the club active. It is your prerogative to attend and get involved if you want snowmobile in Hinsdale. The few of us active members and officers are asking for your support by running for an office and or getting involved in order to make sure the club makes it to the upcoming season. Please attend the meeting on Monday night at 7:30, September 17th at the club house.

You might want to elaborate more about what is wrong with the club? Lack of membership? Landowner issues? It sounds like the club is shutting down, just wondering why!

Its explained here (http://www.slednh.com/forums/index.php?s=&...post&p=4735) but basically lack of participation by members could lead the club to shutdown.

I got involved with my club (Ossipee Valley) after I got a postcard saying that the club would be shut down if there was not more involvement from it's members.

Here is an idea we are trying to get more businesses to attend a monthly Ridge Runner meeting tomorrow night. The following copy went out on postcards to all our business members as a reminder and a plea to attend. :pardon:

"Dear Business Owner,

There are few things other than snow, that affect the commerce of the North Country more than the successful operation of the Pittsburg Ridge Runners. This club is at a crossroad with many major decisions to be made about the future. We would like to have your input on where we are, where we are going, what you expect and what you think we are doing, right or wrong. We value your input, and decisions about the club's future cannot be made without knowing the expectations of the local businesses. The time to exchange ideas is the monthly meeting, September 13th, 7:30 pm at the clubhouse. We will be sharing a pot luck dinner at 6:30 and all are welcome.

Hope to see you there. The Pittsburg Ridge Runners"

We have already received some indications that we will see more businesses there than normal! :good:

What do you think? :)

Aksing local businesses to get involve benefits both the club and them. As a benefit the club could offer businesses advertising space on trail markers. I always find it helpful and visit those businesses that support their local clubs.BTW: How was the turnout?

We had twenty five people at the meeting including a couple of businesses we don't normally see. :clapping: Still pretty pathetic from my perspective, considering we are affecting their business more than anything but the weather!

Time to park the groomers? =@
