I am looking to ride early Sunday. Anything left up that way? How can I get up to the higher elevation areas? What about the SOS system?

Just received a text from Mark D. in the Tucker, he is all the way out to Whiteface/Intervale. He is reporting mid-winter conditions from Gardner Hill Road out, grooming real well.

Best riding this weekend will be tomorrow morning.... :good:

Please, join a Club where you regularly ride...and when you see a Groomer Jar hopefully give what you can as every penny counts!

Stop in Sunday @ the Canoe King, they'll give you directions to a drop-point up in the elevation. They open @ 9AM. Bankers hours!

It isn't to bad from CK. Black Pond Road was a rough but should be better after Mark comes back though. I groomed through Brocks pit today to avoid the hill and water bars on the re-route. Other then that there was about 20' of bare ground on the trail by Bruce's pit. I was surprised that coverage was as good as it was.

I know this is not OVSC trail system but ...... I was out today on Tumble Down Dick road and lookout, out near Moose Mountain ( higher in elevation ) and the trail was very well covered. Soooooo I sent the groomer(T2) out to do what they could. There are some bare spots but much better then I would have expected. Of course the snow banks in Jamaica, are none exsistant, so anything looks better than that :drinks: :good:

The airport has parking lot. Take a right after McDonalds on route 41, you will see c-19 (railbed) cross in front of you, take next right (LakeOssippee Road), and go about 3 or 4 miles. You will go down small hill with pit on right. Take a left. It is directly across from Pequaket Trail. You can park at Ossippee Lake Marina. It is about a mile or so furthur down on right. Follow signs. It is just after Danforth Bay Camping area turnoff. Hope this helps.

Hows the sled running,Mike? Things are progressing on that project we went and checked out. Have not had the meeting yet but will let you know when it is so you can attend.

I rode SOS yesterday and it was very good! Be careful heading to the chimney. The big hill is dirt, rocks, and lots of ice. If your picked you'll have no trouble.

Myself and my buddy were able to get up to the SOS trail system today and get some riding in! We put in at the airport ( thanks Jeff ) and after picking up a map at Canoe King, just sort of explored. There is plenty of snow in the woods and the trails for the most part. Anything that gets a lot of sun is hurting, especially the trail over to the chimney! Thanks to all the local clubs/groomers that work their magic. I suspect if the temps were drop down there is still enough to groom.

Here are a few pictures:

Glad you had a good time Mike! There's still plenty up in Wonalancet too. You can get a few more rides in if you want.

OT is it possible to get out towards the Liberty trail without putting in at Canoe King or WLSP? Watching that video I want to climb it now. ;)

Yes, drop @ the Great hill fire tower, head back towards CK, and just after you cross 113, bear left on the james pond loop. Then take the SECOND left onto the bowles cut off, and the liberty trail is on the right off that, just after you make a SHARP right hand turn from a fairly twisty narrow trail onto a wide straight road...
Check this link, it shows the boy scout bridge looking onto the james pond loop just ahead. There's plenty to ride! (This would be the FIRST left on the JP loop coming east from the GH fire tower.)
OVSC!
GREAT HILL FIRE TOWER MAP.
Drop at the plowed area at the intersection of hemenway and great hill roads.
